Stefano Recchia

John G. Tower Distinguished Chair in International Politics and National Security

Stefano Recchia is the John G. Tower Distinguished Chair in International Politics and National Security and an associate professor at SMU, where he directs the Tower Center’s national security program. He previously taught at the University of Cambridge and holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University, along with a Master’s in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

Recchia's research focuses on U.S. national security policy, transatlantic relations, military intervention, and multilateral cooperation. He is the author of Reassuring the Reluctant Warriors (2015) and has published in journals such as Ethics & International Affairs and Security Studies. He has received numerous grants and fellowships from institutions including the Brookings Institution and the Fulbright Commission.
