Senior Associate Director of the Tower Center

Ray Rafidi has been with SMU since August 2008, initially serving as a Dedman College Degree Counselor before becoming Associate Director of the Tower Center in March 2012. He has over 18 years of experience in higher education, including roles in development, student affairs, finance, and academic advising.

Rafidi holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Arizona. He was a U.S. Congress Fellow focused on Middle Eastern issues and has studied Arabic at Georgetown University and through a Foreign Language Area Studies Scholarship at the University of Washington. He is a member of the Middle East Institute, the Middle East Studies Association of North America, and the World Affairs Council of Dallas-Fort Worth.
