Hiroki Takeuchi
Director of the Sun and Star Program on Japan and East Asia
Hiroki Takeuchi holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University, an M.A. in Asian Studies from UC Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from UCLA. He is currently an associate professor of political science and Director of the Sun and Star Program on Japan and East Asia at SMU. Previously, he taught at UCLA and Stanford.
His research interests include Chinese and Japanese politics, the comparative political economy of authoritarian regimes, and East Asian international relations, with a focus on applying game theory to political science.
